Photo Rejuvenation Skincare Treatment

Accumulated damages to the skin over time caused by ultraviolet light results in photo-aging. Photo Rejuvenation skincare treatment refers to the cosmetic treatment of photo-aged skin with minimally-invasive procedure that uses intense pulsed light to stimulate the reproduction of collagen. It is a FDA approved procedure, a “quick-fix” that provides smoother, healthier, younger-looking skin with minimal to no down time and delivers high customer satisfaction.

How Photo Rejuvenation skincare treatment works

Before treatment, a cold gel is applied to the treated area and you are given protective eye-wear.

During the procedure, pulses of intense light are delivered to the skin through very specific filters. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, the physician will be able to treat a broad range of skin conditions caused by skin aging and sun exposure. The light energy delivered gently heats the upper layers of the skin. The tissues absorb the light energy which stimulates the production of collagen. With new collagen forming, the patient’s aging skin begins to soften.

Brown spots may darken immediately after the Photo Rejuvenation skincare treatment but within the next few days, darker spots may develop a fine flaky covering that will shed to reveal the fresh, even skin underneath.

Photo Rejuvenation skincare treatment is repeated in a series of six treatments, every three to four weeks, in order to achieve optimal results. Each session can take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated.

You may note mild stinging in the treated areas which will usually resolve very quickly after the procedure.  There will also be mild redness, but this is temporary and will disappear within a few hours.

Photo Rejuvenation Skincare Treatment Aftercare

Avoid direct sun light; apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or more on treated area daily over the course of 4 weeks after treatment to help minimize the risk of undesired changes.

Also avoid facial massage, sauna and keep a cool, soft compress to alleviate any swelling or bruising for 24 hours.
